My personal favorite Jackbox Game is Quiplash: The game gives you a prompt and you answer with what you think everyone else would think is funny, in the end everyone votes on the best answers, the player with the most votes on their answers wins!

Cards Against Humanity

Cards Against Humanity is an adult party game in which players complete fill-in-the-blank statements, using words or phrases typically deemed offensive, risqué, or politically incorrect, printed on playing cards. It is one of  the funniest games to play with friends. The first player, chosen randomly, will pull a black card from the stack. The rest of the players will look through their hand of white cards and put down what they think is the best one. Then the player with the black card will read aloud the white cards after shuffling them as to create anonymity, and will then decide which white card is the best and give the black card as a form of a point. Cards Against Humanity is $30 with expansion packs around $20.

Catan

Catan is a very popular board game because it is fun and easy to learn, but also requires some strategy making it even more satisfying. Also known as Settlers of Catan, the game features players acting as pioneers founding communities on the made-up island of Catan. They construct settlements, cities, and roads to link them as they colonize the island. The game board, representing the island, is made up of hexagonal tiles of various terrain types, which are laid out randomly at the start of each game. Players construct by using resources (wool, grain, lumber, brick, and ore) depicted on resource cards; each terrain type, except for the unproductive desert, yields a specific resource: hills yield brick, forests yield lumber, mountains yield ore, fields yield grain, and pastures yield wool. During a player’s turn, two six-sided dice are rolled to determine which hexes yield resources. Players with a settlement adjacent to a hex with the number just rolled receive one card of the corresponding resource; cities yield two cards of the corresponding resource. The goal of the game is to reach ten victory points. Players score one point for each settlement they own and two for each city. Various other achievements, such as establishing the longest road and the largest army, grant a player additional victory points. Catan will cost you around $50 but can be found on sale if you keep your eye out.

Codenames

Codenames is a super fun word game that you can play in person and online! Two teams compete by each having “spymasters” give one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board. The teammate attempts to guess their team’s words while avoiding the words of the other team. This is a fun and popular option for your game night. Codenames is around $25 but can be found on sale for as low as $12, the online version is free.
