Where can I host an immersive tech-based event?

It is well known that San Francisco is a hot bed for tech events. These events have a wide range of purpose, from networking mixer, to showcasing the hottest new trends. The options are plentiful and often unique. Here are some of our favorite spots to host a tech event in San Francisco.

California Academy of Sciences (Golden Gate Park)

A museum, aquarium, rainforest, and planetarium under one living roof you can lookout from, gives you dramatic backdrops plus mission-driven science flair. You can book from 15 distinct spaces (individually or combined), including:

  • Planetarium with theater seating, Aquarium, African Hall, Grand Hall, Piazza, Living Roof, and gardens/terraces for indoor-outdoor flow.
  • Virtual offerings that explore behind the scenes tours, live stream viewing of Claude the alligator, trivia, and a planetarium show.

The Exploratorium (Pier 15 on the Embarcadero)

A waterfront science museum with hands-on exhibits and stunning views. Event space rentals include access to galleries and purpose-built rooms so you can tailor the experience:

  • Fisher Bay Observatory & Terrace, Bechtel Central & Outdoor Gallery, Moore East Gallery, Osher West Gallery, and the Kanbar Forum.
  • Full-facility and gallery bundles are available, plus resources and floor maps to plan traffic flow and activities.

Digital Jungle SF (SoMa, near Moscone)

A production-ready, 11,000-sq-ft tech venue designed for conferences, meetups, hackathons, livestreams, and podcasts which is about a 10-minute walk from the convention center. Highlights include:

  • Main Stage with a 30-ft 4K LED wall, pro lighting/AV, and seating up to ~250.
  • 10 breakout rooms with conferencing gear and digital signage.
  • A sound Isolated podcast studio, a workshop room that seats about 40, 1Gb up/down internet, repeat screens, recording/livestream rigs, and DMX-controlled lights for branded ambiance.
  • An on-site team that can handle security, furniture, and A/V so you can show up and go live.

Reason (SoMa, by DNA Lounge)

Escape rooms create a fast, collaborative rhythm where teams share information quickly, clarify roles, and solve under time pressure, which makes them surprisingly good for offsites and community events. They also train flexible thinking, pattern recognition, time management, and resilience which are skills that carry over to work. Constraints and instant feedback encourage rapid experimentation and cognitive diversity, which keeps energy high and ideas flowing.

Tech you’ll actually touch at Reason

  • Immersion Visor – explore digital worlds and hunt for clues
  • AI Conversation Terminal – chat with an AI to uncover secrets
  • LUNA Database – input findings and track team progress
  • Matter Forge – “fabricate” microchip clues
  • Reactive Projection Interface – navigate light-based interactions
  • Cartridge Key Scanner – decode cryptic messages

Reason has large-group missions that weave in VR, 3D printing, holograms, and interactive stations which are great for hands-on, story-driven play.
